The Monday problem

Somebody has to run the meeting.

The blank page

It's 6:55 a.m., the crew's standing there, and the foreman is improvising a safety talk off the top of his head. Again.

The eye-roll material

The free stuff online reads like an insurance company wrote it, because one did. The crew tunes out by sentence two.

The missing record

The talk happened, but nobody signed anything. When the safety audit asks for documentation, there isn't any.

The part nobody else does

The sign-in sheet is on the same page as the talk.

Run the talk, pass the sheet, file it. The meeting and your training record are one piece of paper. No separate log to buy, print, or lose. That's the whole trick, and it's on all 52 pages.

Every week, one page

Built to be read out loud in five minutes.

01An opener that gets attention. Plain language about why this one kills people, no lecture.
02Four or five talking points in field language a crew will actually listen to.
03Walk the job. One concrete thing to go look at on your site that same day.
04Ask the crew. Two questions that get guys talking back instead of nodding off.
05The standard reference. The OSHA subpart each talk leans on, for your records.
06The sign-in block. Date, job, led-by, and twelve lines. Your documentation, same sheet.

Who wrote this

Written on the steel, not in an office.

I'm a steel erector. I stand in these meetings every week of my working life, and most of the material deserves the eye-roll it gets. So I wrote the year I'd actually want to hear: plain talk, real hazards, in the order the seasons bring them, with the paperwork handled on the same page. No stock photos, no corporate voice, no filler. Fifty-two Mondays, covered.
